Wild River Expedition Rafting Trip
The Kakwa River is one of Western Canada’s premier rafting trips, delivering a true, back-country wilderness experience. After a gentle start, dig in and paddle hard as we hit solid rapids and get buried in whitewater! Big waves, relaxing floats and tranquil riverside camping with freshly prepared meals all make this an awesome remote adventure. After spring run-off ends the river becomes mellower, but still delivers big entertainment, making it perfect for families or youth groups. Great for beginners as well as those with experience.

There, you will fill out waiver/medical form, get sized into rafting gear, and get dry bags to pack your personal gear. Then we head to the river in our shuttle bus - it’s an hour drive. At the river, the guides load the boats while we serve dinner. A safety talk is given before we launch. Spend about an hour floating before we stop on shore make camp for the night. Once camp is set up, the guides prepare supper. After, enjoy the campfire while we clean up. The next morning, we will wake you with a fresh breakfast. Then we all pack up and load the boats. This is our big white water day! The first 3 hours are spent hitting big waves. That evening, we again make camp on the shore, and the next morning another delicious breakfast is served. The last 3 hours are spent floating to the end of the trip. At the end, we load the bus, then it’s a 2-hour drive back to Grande Cache.
