where are we?
office location
We really are out there. We operate in the mountains north and east of
Jasper National Park, in Grande Cache
and Hinton. It's the same amazing outdoor
settings, but no crowds or heavy tourism development. Accommodations options
are more affordable. And, we have to say it, the rafting is WAY better!!
It's about the rivers..
discover the rivers
Surrounding the town of Grande Cache are rivers that offer every type
of whitewater. All are a short distance from town. The Smoky River
is a scenic float, and a multi-day trip north to Grande Prairie. The
Sulphur River is at the bottom of a beautiful canyon, and is the best
beginner white water trip you may find. Sheep Creek is a serious, advanced
rafting trip - the steepest, most technical river being rafted commercially
in the province. The Kakwa River is considered the best overnight rafting
trip in Alberta. We are blessed that all are wild, free rivers. And,
it is very rare to see even one other party. Read more about our rivers.
discover the canyons and caves
No one knows who discovered Cadomin Cave, but it had probably been known
to local natives for centuries. It may have been visited by prospectors
early in the 1900s, and people have been visiting it ever since. The cave
is named after the nearby village of Cadomin. Today it's an unique adventure,
a definite “must-do” for visitors to the area. Opened from
May 1st to August 31st, these phenomenal caves were created by time and
ground water, and are some of the oldest in the province. It's guaranteed
to be a great time! (Be sure to watch out for them bats…)
discover the parks
Flanking Jasper National Park on the eastern and northern sides are William
Switzer and Willmore Wilderness
Provincial Parks. Just northwest of Hinton, William
Switzer is a treasure trove of lakes and campgrounds, ideal for those
weekend get-away's.Willmore Park is simply
majestic, surrounding Grande Cache on three sides. This park is 4597 sq.
km of unparalleled pristine mountain wilderness. Many of the 21 mountain
peaks seen from Grande Cache lay within park boundaries, and complement
an amazing outdoor playground.
